چکیده

The plasma levels of soluble antiapoptotic Fas (sFas) and proapoptotic Fas-ligand (sFasl) proteins were studied in heart transplant recipients at one-month follow-up. The patients were treated with Neoral (n=18) or Tacrolimus (n=12) and concomitant immunosuppressive drugs. The sFas and sFasl levels were detected by ElISA. The values were related to treatment with Neoral or Tacrolimus in stable patients and in patients with acute rejection episodes (treated with methylprednisolone; ≥IB), and also to antirejection treatment with methylprednisolone or ATG/OkT3. The results showed no significant changes in sFas and sFasl levels in the stable recipients and in the patients experiencing acute rejection treated with methylprednisolone, regardless of treatment with Neoral or Tacrolimus. However, with antirejection therapy, both sFas and sFasl levels increased in the patients given ATG or OkT3, but not in those treated with methylprednisolone.

Aqueous Humor Levels of Soluble Fas and Fas-ligand in Patients with Primary Open Angle and Pseudoex-foliation Glaucoma

Background: Glaucoma is one of the most common causes of blindness and is usually associated with elevated intraocular pressure. In patients with primary open angle glau-coma the number of trabecular meshwork cells is decreased. Death of the trabecular meshwork cells may be a result of apoptosis. Objective: To investigate the aqueous humor levels of soluble Fas (sFas) and Fas-Ligand (sFasL) in ...

Effect of Fas -670 A/G Gene Polymorphism on Corneal Allograft Endothelial Rejection

Background: Human cornea expresses functional Fas-ligand capable of killing Fas+ activated lymphocytes. Fas expression is partly regulated by -670 A/G polymorphism in the promoter region of Fas gene. Objective: The aim of the present study is to determine the association between Fas-670A/G polymorphism and survival of corneal transplantation. Methods: In 276 graft recipients who mainly underwen...

ببررسی سطح فرم محلول FasL در مایع پریتوئن و سرم زنان مبتلا به اندومتریوز در مقایسه با زنان غیر اندومتریوز

Background: Endometriosis is a common gynecological disorder, which its main feature is the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. In this disease, apoptosis is impaired in endometrial cells transmitted to the peritoneal cavity, and thus these cells remain in ectopic sites and grow there. FasL-expressing cells induce apoptosis when they bind to Fas-bearing immune cells. Solubl...

Plasma Fas ligand, an inducer of apoptosis, and plasma soluble Fas, an inhibitor of apoptosis, in patients with chronic congestive heart failure.

OBJECTIVES This study sought to examine plasma levels of soluble Fas/APO-1 receptor (sFas), an inhibitor of apoptosis, and soluble Fas ligand (sFas-L), an inducer of apoptosis, and their relation to each other and to other clinical variables, such as New York Heart Association functional class, tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in congestive heart failure (CHF). Clinical Pharmacokinetics of Tacrolimus in Iranian Liver Transplant Recipients

Tacrolimus, a cornerstone of immunosuppressive therapy in solid organ transplantation, has a narrow therapeutic range with considerable inter-individual and intra-individual pharmacokinetic variability. To date, there is no information on the pharmacokinetics of tacrolimus in Iranian liver transplant recipients. This study was designed to determine pharmacokinetic properties of orally administe...
